Development of Women’s Leadership: Skills, Strategies, and Support

In order to implement the State Program for Supporting Women’s Leadership in Bishkek, a three-day training for graduates of the Online Academy of Women’s Leadership was held from September 25 to September 27, 2024.

The training aimed to achieve the following key objectives:

1.Highlighting Gender Equality and Women’s Leadership Issues: Participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance of gender equality and the role of women in leadership. This will help them recognize their potential and influence in society.

2.Developing Professional Skills: The training focused on improving public speaking, project management, and effective work in a multilingual environment. These skills are fundamental for a successful career and confidently presenting their ideas.

3. Training on Digital Security: Participants learned about the importance of protecting personal data and the basics of digital security. This knowledge will enable them to use modern technologies confidently and safely in their professional activities.

Thus, the training not only raised awareness, but also provided practical tools for effective leadership and advocacy in the digital space.

During the training, Kiyal Januzakova emphasized that the role of women in the socio-economic development of our country is becoming increasingly evident and important. Women constitute a significant part of the population, and their involvement in leadership positions is not just a matter of equality; it is a vital element for the successful development of the state and society.

Over the three days, selected participants from all regions of the Online Academy of Women’s Leadership took part in panel discussions, gender analysis workshops, and individual consultations with international experts. Participants gained practical skills in effectively presenting themselves and learned to overcome challenges in public speaking. Experts provided valuable advice and conducted reflections on successes and failures.

Participants demonstrated a high level of interest in gender equality and leadership topics, actively asking questions and sharing their experiences. This created an atmosphere of open discussion and interaction.

International expert Lolita Chigane and national expert Rimma Sultanova conducted a practical session on public speaking.

Additionally, as part of the training, women leaders visited the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) and the Central Election Commission, where they met with women deputies Gulsharkan Kultaev and Guley Kozhokulova to discuss the development of women’s leadership in the country.

The training on women’s leadership gathered participants from diverse professional fields, highlighting the relevance of gender equality and women’s leadership issues for women working in various sectors of the economy and social sphere. Participants represented the public sector, education, non-profit organizations, medicine, and culture, creating a unique environment for sharing experiences and ideas.

One of the key features of this event is the significant number of participants working in the public administration and educational institutions. These sectors are often primary for implementing changes and promoting gender equality principles. The ambition of women to occupy leadership positions in these areas confirms their active role in shaping the future society. Education and public administration serve as platforms where ideas of equality can be integrated at the policy and practice levels, thus creating opportunities for future generations.

Therefore, the diversity of professional fields represented at the training not only enriches the discussions but also emphasizes that gender equality and women’s leadership issues are relevant across all sectors. Participants witness how collaborative efforts across different fields can lead to significant changes and advancements in women’s rights.
