5 марта 2024 года Альянс Женских Законодательных Инициатив организовал встречу женщин-лидеров, приуроченную 8 Марта — Международному дню солидарности женщин за свои права и расширение экономических возможностей.

Members of the Kyrgyz Republic Parliament, representatives of organizations defending women’s rights, and experts were invited.

During the meeting, a presentation was made about the history, goals, principles of the Alliance’s activities, and its prospects, followed by a general discussion on cooperation opportunities

The Alliance is an informal association of legal entities and individuals, established in 2008, the year of the 100th anniversary of the first women’s march for their rights, which took place in 1908 in New York. At that time, the women’s movement in Kyrgyzstan was inspired by the fact that gender quotas had been introduced into electoral legislation, which ensured that the situation of zero representation of women in the parliament would not be repeated in our country.

The goal of the Alliance is to strengthen the political voice and influence of women through the promotion of gender-oriented legislative initiatives and the monitoring of the implementation of gender policy.
